Abnormal, excessive or irregular bleeding is extremely common among many women. We perform a physical examination, hysteroscopy and other screenings to determine possible causes. Our providers will assist you in regulating your cycle by providing treatments such as Thermachoice, NovaSure, and contraceptive pills.
Menopause commonly occurs between the ages of 48 and 55. Our providers are here to assist women as they experience the side effects of menopause. We provide education and guidance as well as medication if needed to alleviate uncomfortable symptoms.
Osteoporosis is a bone disease which is more prevalent in post- menopausal women. Osteoporosis causes the bones to weaken and can result in frequent bone fractures. Boro Park OB/GYN provides Bone Density Screening on-site. Our Bone Density machine scans your body to take a closer look at your bone structure. This enables our providers to treat the osteoporosis most effectively.
The HPV vaccine is administered to women ages 19-26 and is designed to protect against Human Papillomavirus (HPV), an infection which can cause cervical cancer. Our staff is available to provide the vaccine as well as answer any questions you may have.
Endometriosis is a disorder in which tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can cause pain and discomfort, specifically around menstruation. We perform a pelvic exam to properly diagnose endometriosis. We also provide birth control and pain medication to manage the condition.
Hysteroscopy is a procedure that enables your doctor to look inside your uterus and thereby diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding. Hysteroscopy is performed by inserting a thin tube called a hysteroscope to examine the cervix and uterus.
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) occurs when a woman’s hormones are out of balance. PCOS can cause menstrual irregularities, acne, unwanted hair growth, increased risk of diabetes, and is a common cause for fertility issues. When providing treatment for PCOS, our providers always take the patient’s individual circumstances in to account. Treatment options include diet and lifestyle changes, medication and a referral to an endocrinologist.
An abnormal Pap smear result can be caused by an infection or abnormal cells called dysplasia. An abnormal result does not necessarily indicate that a patient has cancer. If a Pap smear shows abnormal findings, our providers will conduct further testing such as a colposcopy. Our providers are then able to verify whether or not there is a reason for concern and if treatment is necessary.
Cervical Dysplasia is a precancerous condition in which abnormal cells grow on the surface of the cervix.
Our providers may remove the abnormal cells with Cryosurgery or Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP).
